Colombia (Octubre 17 del 2018). En Colombia, las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas (Pymes) constituyen aproximadamente el 90% del tejido empresarial, generan el 80% del empleo formal y aportan el 50% del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB), señala la Asociación Colombiana de Micro, Pequeños y Medianos Empresarios (Acopi). Son un motor económico que lidera las iniciativas empresariales y la creación de puestos de trabajo, y que cuenta con grandes retos a vencer para continuar con su crecimiento. Cerca de la mitad de las pequeñas y medianas empresas del país se quiebra después del primer año y solo el 20% sobrevive al tercero, establece Acopi. Los lapsos de suspensión de operaciones que cortan los flujos de ganancias debido a sinestros o accidentes no asegurados, para muchas Pymes han sido la causa de su extinción. Sin embargo, “las Pymes en Colombia no tienen la cultura de adquirir pólizas para garantizar su sostenibilidad y crecimiento, la mayoría solo contrata las establecidas por la ley. La aparición de productos acordes con las nuevas dinámicas comerciales y tecnológicas de este sector, así como aquellos que brindan beneficios a sus empleados, convierten a los seguros en el mejor respaldo para las pequeñas y medianas empresas”, destaca Jaime Chaves, vicepresidente de Seguros Generales de Chubb Seguros Colombia S.A. Comprender los seguros como una inversión que genera sostenibilidad y crecimiento es hoy una prioridad para este importante sector productivo de Colombia que busca mantenerse, crecer, consolidarse e inclusive conquistar los mercados internacionales. Danilo Hernández, gerente segmento mediano de Chubb Seguros Colombia S.A., señala que “cuando las pequeñas y medianas empresas adquieren seguros acordes a sus necesidades, manejan los riesgos de una forma más eficiente, tienen más posibilidades de inversión y financiamiento e incluso pueden acceder a oportunidades comerciales dentro y fuera del país”. ¿Por qué y para se debe asegurar una Pyme? Para que las Pymes puedan ser exitosas y continúen con sus operaciones, es vital que se concienticen sobre la importancia de verificar y evaluar los riesgos a los que su negocio está expuesto. En este orden de ideas, el objetivo principal al adquirir un seguro debe ser el de garantizar que sus ingresos no se interrumpan y respaldar sus operaciones protegiendo los elementos que hacen parte de su empresa. Al asegurarse, una Pyme debe contemplar un amparo todo riesgo frente a incendios, explosiones, catástrofes naturales y otros incidentes, así como un amparo de pérdidas financieras por lucro cesante (forma de daño patrimonial que consiste en la pérdida de una ganancia legítima o de una utilidad económica), transporte de valores, sustracción con violencia o robo, avería de maquinaria, fallas de equipos eléctricos y electrónicos, pérdidas por infidelidad de los empleados, transporte incidental de mercancía y responsabilidad civil extracontractual. Chubb, más allá de las coberturas básicas para Pymes La industria aseguradora hoy cuenta con novedosas pólizas para las pequeñas y medianas empresas.
